Rakhi Celebration
Rakhi was celebrated by RCS in a different way. Rotarians gathered at care centre at Sector – 26, on 11th Aug 2022, which is Centre for Women in distress. RCS Rtn Dr Manisha offered her services to council the inmates with behavioural challenges. Rakhi ceremony was performed where ladies tied Rakhi to RCS Members. It was emotional as well as satisfying experience. Three pressure cookers were handed over to the organisation as required for their Kitchen.
Gurah Village Celebrates Independence Day With RCS
75th Independence Day was celebrated on 15th Aug 2022, with the Students of Primary Govt School of Gurah village, which has been adopted by RCS for overall development. Flag hoisting, patriotic songs and dances were performed with full enthusiasm. Awareness of importance of Independence Day and ways to respect our national flag was told in detail. Two ceiling fans and stationery was distributed to 50 children and refreshment was given to all those present.
Janmashtami Celebration With a Difference
Rotary Chandigarh Shivalik organised a special session of bhajans and prayers jointly with the inmates and students of the Institute for The Blind, on 19th Aug 2022. More than 40 students participated actively in reciting the bhajans led by RCS members. A very well enacted skit was performed by the students depicting the birth of Lord Krishna and teachings given to Arjun during Mahabharata. Performance by these visually challenged children was amazing as all RCS members felt that they did much better job than any one of them
