Rotary Chandigarh Shivalik
District Golf Tournament
District golf tournament of our district 3080 was hosted by our club Rotary Chandigarh Shivalik on 18th of September 2022. Total 55 golfers played the tournament and 30 non golfers, including RCS members participated in the event. Golfers from far off places like Delhi and jaipur also participated in the tournament. Running trophy was won by Rotary Club, Roorkie. District governor V P Kalta along with his family attended the event and ceremony. Our club received appreciation from all over the district for successful organisation of the event and many Rotary magazines of various clubs of the district published the event.
Nation Builder Awards
On the occasion of birthday of Radhakrishnan, second president of India, September 5th, Teachers Day was celebrated by Rotary Chandigarh Shivalik at press club, Chandigarh.
Out of 23 applications received, we selected six teachers for “nation builder award” The criteria was diversity in the education and teachers from fine arts, music, EVS were included along with academics.
Awards were presented by senior club members and our AG APS Dhiman who graced the occasion with his family.
Rajat Kamal Award
It is indeed a proud moment for our club that one of our young Rotarians Ojasswee Sharma was honoured on September 30th, at the 68th film awards held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi by the President of India Smt. Draupadi Murmuru. He has been awarded by a special jury award “Rajat Kamal award “ to director Rtn. Ojasswee Sharma from Rotary Chandigarh Shivalik for the Hindi / English film “Admitted”- A story based on the life of transgender Dhananjay Chauhan a student of Panjab University
The winners of the 68th National Film Awards – NFA were declared on 22 July 2022 by the Directorate of Film Festivals and the awards were presented on 30 September 2022, at the ceremony in New Delhi, at Vigyan Bhawan, to honor the best films of 2020 in Indian cinema.
